Recent Research

Some of our LL.M. students primarily engage in classroom studies. Others add classes and activities focused on practical aspects of environmental law, such as clinics and externships. Still others use their LL.M. studies to write a thesis or academic article during their education.

On this page are links to a few recent publications by students interested in the research aspects of environmental law.

Dinara Ziganshina, University of Oregon LL.M. 2008, Rethinking the Concept of the Human Right to Water.

Ms. Ziganshina analyzes the human right to water and suggests that General Comment No. 15 on the Right to Water of the United Nations' Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights should be reassessed. She argues for strengthening this right to ensure its full and effective realization, especially in water-scarce countries.
